Michael Jackson estate renews BMI deal
Jackson's career spanned more than four decades and generated estimated cumulative album sales in excess of 1 billion.
“We are pleased to announce our continued representation of Michael’s extraordinary and vast catalogue,” said BMI president and CEO Mike O’Neill. “Since 1976, we’ve had the privilege of licensing his works and we’re honored to continue this relationship with his estate.”
In addition to the estate of Michael Jackson renewing with BMI this year, songwriters P!nk, Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift have also chosen to continue their partnership with the company.
BMI saw its membership swell in 2014 with the signings of Sam Smith (PRS), Hozier (IMRO), Danielle Bradbury, Nico and Vinz, Tamar Braxton, St. Paul and The Broken Bones, Jhene Aiko, Brooke Eden and more.
The company now represents over 650,000 songwriters, composers and publishers.

L'Estate di Michael Jackson rinnova il contratto con BMI
La Tenuta di MJ ha rinnovato la sua lunga collaborazione con BMI (***) come rappresentanti del Catalogo dell'icona pop.
La carriera di Jackson è durata più di quattro decenni e ha generato una cifra stimata superiore a 1 miliardo di copie vendute.
"Siamo lieti di annunciare la nostra continua rappresentazione del catalogo straordinario e vasto di Michael", ha detto il Presidente e CEO della BMI, Mike O'Neill. "Dal 1976, abbiamo avuto il privilegio di licenza delle sue opere e siamo onorati di continuare questo rapporto con la sua tenuta."
Oltre alla tenuta di Michael Jackson, i cantautori P! Nk, Maroon 5 e Taylor Swift hanno scelto di continuare la loro collaborazione con la società.
