In 1984 Michael Jackson walked home with 8 Grammy awards for Thriller and set a new world record. He then released "We Are The World" in 1985, which still is considered an anthem for music. The same year Michael Jackson bought the ATV musci catalog with the publishing rights to many bands and artists such as The Beatles. Michael Jackson's goals were achieved but he didn't stop, he had to top himself. That's what Bad was supposed to do. Michael Jackson's Bad was supposed to be bigger than Thriller, it was supposed to sell twice as much copies, win more Grammy awards and top more records. Even though Bad is a legendary album, it didn't top Thriller after being snubbed at the Grammy awards and not getting enough sales...
