Michael Jackson’s Global fans ask for Journalistic Investigation of NYPost Stacy Brown

MJGlobal family – Now is our time to become pro-active-

We all are aware that Stacy Brown of the NYPost continually and with impunity. posts articles with no basis in truth or named sources on Page Six-

Howard Weitzman, attorney for Michael Jackson’s Estate and the MJEstate have stated publicly – against these reports.

“Statement from the Estate of Michael Jackson RE: Stacy Brown

We have received a number of inquiries from the community regarding the most recent Stacy Brown story. As many of you are aware, the Estate generally prefers not to legitimatize the lies and rumors spread in the media or expand the coverage by other media of those stories. However, the Estate has asked that we share with you the following statement that was issued by Howard Weitzman, attorney for the Estate of Michael Jackson, in a response to a request for comment yesterday:

“We are aware of recent false “reports” regarding Michael Jackson having, among other things, paid over $200 million to 20 “victims.” There is not a shred of evidence to support these ludicrous “reports.” It is unfortunate that, even in death, Michael cannot be free of these types of allegations, but we are confident that the truth will prevail in the end, just as it did in 2005 when a jury fully exonerated him.”

The Estate is steadfast in its defense of Michael in courts and that will not change regardless of what lies and rumors are spread by journalists with their own agendas.

    “Not a Shred of Evidence”

    Currently in the News –

Almost immediately following the Rollingstones disturbing story regarding a gang rape of a female student by members of fraternity at Unversity of Virginia .. the story seemed to unravel and eventually fall apart.

The New York Times called in to question the journalistic integrity of not only the author, but the Rollingstones editor, the article obvious bias and issues regarding lack of research and finding out the other side of the story. A Report on RollingStone- A Case Study in Failed Journalism

While we applaud the New York Times for calling out this bias fabricated story we wonder why other stories that are clearly baseless and contain equally salacious allegations and accusation of sexual misconduct are not simiarly called out.

Why isn’t this case of Failed Journalism called out when Wade Robson claims of “rape” are simply accepted because he’s brought a civil suit against the Estate of Michael Jackson?

In the Fox411 article, Holly McKay quotes Howard Weitzman but uses unnamed “inside sources” to add salacious and half-truths – and Then she fails to explain further that the housekeeper who testified for the prosecution was impeached on the stand by Tom Mesereau, as was many of the State witnesses. There is a reason why Michael Jackson was found NOT GUILTY on 14 counts... and yet the article makes it sound like the housekeepers account was accepted by the jury, as fact.

No one called out Fox411 article nor the author Holly McKay for writing a biased piece against Michael .. Why ? Is it just because it’s Michael Jackson?

Jack Shafer of Politico penned a very interesting piece that echoes our concerns. Why point out RollingStone egregous violations of journalistic code when other “reporter” and publications are not?

    Please do read http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/201...l#ixzz3WekyZA4P

We think the New York Times, Politico and Forbes and other publications should investigate and report about the NyPost lack of journalistic standards and FAKE Michael Jackson stories, as much as they did RollingStones for their FAKE rape story-

MJJJP decided to ask a few of the journalist who were discussing the Rollingstone issue if they’d look into Stacy Brown’s completely fabricated NYPost article which is filled with baseless accusation regarding Michael Jackson-

We shared a moment with Jonathan Swan

“questionably sourced” ? hmhm .. indeed

    Our response

    and

We were elated to get a response from Jonathan Swan and he did advise us to contact Eric Wemple of Washington Post …. and so we did

Every member of MJGlobal has the potential of making a difference.

We suggest any fans who are as concerned about continued reports that have no basis of facts regarding Michael Jackson being copy pasted over and over – to please express them in a similar manner. Tweet to the journalist below, and any other who might be open to communicating on this topic. These are Journalists who are at least examining BAD journalistic practice and are alarmed by it- . @JackShafer @RavisSomaiya @PeterHilmer @JonathanSwan

We must enter into dialogue and express ourselves – It’s TIME

We, the MJGlobal family, as the largest social media group in the world need to raise our concerns in a concentrated voice – If we want to see a Change we must BE proactive in making the Change happen.

Below are our twitlongers and expression of concern, feel free to use them or write out additional concerns – but Please do get involved. We can not kvetch, then sit and do nothing about how Michael Jackson is written about by the copy paste media.

    1. New York Times should speak to ALL violators of journalistic ethics.

@ravisomaiya We would appreciate the New York Times to mete out equal inspection upon the NYPost as it did on Rolling Stone articles. Please speak out with the same sort of admonishment for the baseless salacious lies regarding Michael Jackson in the NYPost –

It is the very SAME lack of journalistic ethics and self regulation that have been pointed out in the Rollingstones False UAV Rape case –

Howard Weitzman, attorney for Michael Jackson’s Estate has stated publicly – against these reports.

“We are aware of recent false ‘reports’ regarding Michael Jackson having, among other things, paid over $200 million to 20 ‘victims . . . . There is not a shred of evidence to support these ludicrous ‘reports.’ It is unfortunate that, even in death, Michael cannot be free of these types of allegations, but we are confident that the truth will prevail in the end, just as it did in 2005 when a jury fully exonerated him.”

Shouldn’t the New York Times bring same sort of investigation regarding credibility of “sources” and the idea of copy paste journalism that AOL, USAToday, Fox etc employed when baseless salacious allegation against Michael Jackson, are posted again and again without benefit of research?

All we are asking is for FAIR & credible reporting –

    2. @jackshafer – We would appreciate you at Politco AND the New York Times to mete out equal inspection upon the NYPost as it did on Rolling Stone articles. Please speak out with the same sort of admonishment for the baseless salacious lies regarding Michael Jackson in the NYPost –

Your quote: “,.. Editors and producers at the highest ranks of journalism have fallen again and again during the past few decades, committing crimes against journalism that match or surpass those of Rolling Stone and Erdely”

The very SAME lack of journalistic ethics and self regulation that have been pointed out in the Rollingstones False UAV Rape case apply to NYPost Page Six article written by Stacy Brown – http://pagesix.com/…/lawyers-say-jacko-paid-200m-in-hush-m…/

Shouldn’t ethical journalist bring Brown and the NYPost to task as well? Shouldn’t the New York Times has a standard in publishing integrity, bring same sort of investigation regarding credibility of “sources” and the idea of copy paste journalism that AOL, USAToday, Fox etc employ when baseless salacious allegation against Michael Jackson, are posted again and again without benefit of research?

@PeterHelmer Can we expect Forbes to SPEAK OUT on the SAME lack of journalistic ethics regarding the FALSE NYPost Michael Jackson story posted by Stacy Brown?
