Why You Should Support ‘Xscape’

With regards to the new album, ‘Xscape,’ I feel that ignoring “the elephant in the room” would be stupid…allow me to explain. We are more than aware that ever since this album was announced, a minority of fans with large voices, have spoken out against the release. Their arguments are:
The Estate are just money grabbers
We shouldn’t support Sony, as Michael hated Sony
Michael wouldn’t want any songs he didn’t complete released
After the ‘Michael’ album with the controversial Cascio tracks on in 2010, we shouldn’t support ‘Xscape’
People shouldn’t be making money off a dead man
Whilst everyone is entitled to their opinions, I feel strongly that Michael Jackson should still be successful, and in doing so, I want to set the record straight. I’m not part of the Michael Jackson Estate and therefore am not under any obligation to produce this article to support them. I just want to help get Michael Jackson to number one in 2014!
I would therefore like to answer arguments about this project as I see it:
1) Some think the Estate are money grabbers
We must remember as fans that whilst the Estate employees will be paid, money made by the projects they produce also go to charities as Michael requested and to his children. These are the biggest benefactors.
2) Some believe we shouldn’t support Sony
Michael had a well documented fall out with his record company in 2002. However, his anger was towards the then Chairman CEO Tommy Mottola. Mottola left the company in 2003 and Michael signed a new contract with Sony in 2008 to release ‘Thriller 25.’ This clearly shows that Michael was at peace with Sony and was happy to work with them. If Michael was happy, we should be happy.
3) Some think that Michael wouldn’t want any songs he didn’t complete released
There is certainly an argument to be made that Michael would be unhappy to have unfinished songs released to the public. But that said, he worked harder than any other artist throughout his career and he would have wanted that legacy continued. Releasing albums such as ‘Xscape’ is a great way to help continue what Michael worked so hard on, and even if you personally don’t like the songs, it doesn’t tarnish what Michael released whilst alive, in my opinion. The ‘Xscape’ album has been delicately handled and everything released since Michael’s passing has been worked on by people who knew him or worked directly with him.
4) After ‘Michael’ in 2010 we don’t want to support ‘Xscape’
I cannot speak on behalf of the Estate, however, I would say that after the controversy that surrounded the Cascio tracks on the last album, they probably have certain regrets, as those three tracks certainly marred the release. During our sessions with the Estate in LA, they spoke very fondly about what they’ve created since 2009, though notably skipped talking about the 2010 album. They also stressed (and rightly so) that the new album is nothing like that of ‘Michael’ and that under no circumstances will they be using any tracks from the Cascio family again. The Estate has also listened to the fans reaction and learnt from last time, and that’s why we will have all the original demos on this forthcoming album, as last heard by Michael himself.
5) People shouldn’t be making money off a dead man
The fact of the matter is, the Estate can’t create things to give away for free. That would be poor business management and be a massive detriment to Michael’s children. If they were to believe you shouldn’t make money, then nothing could be released or produced (including Cirque Du Soleil, anniversary albums, live tour DVD’s etc…). That would sadly mean that Michael Jackson’s legacy would die with him, with nothing further to promote his great talents.
In conclusion I would say that to not support ‘Xscape’ is to not support Michael Jackson. The general public don’t know much about the problems Michael had with Sony over ten years ago, or the drama over the Casico tracks four years ago. All the public see is how releases fair in the charts. What will be remembered at the end of the day is whether or not Michael Jackson is still a number one artist or not. Only you can help Michael achieve this.
Let’s make Michael Jackson number one again and support ‘Xscape’.

-------------------Perché dovreste sostenere 'Xscape'
Per quanto riguarda il nuovo album, 'Xscape,' credo che ignorare "l'elefante nella stanza" sarebbe stupido ... permettetemi di spiegare. Siamo più che consapevoli che dal momento in cui questo album è stato annunciato, una minoranza di fans si é espressa a gran voce contro il rilascio. I loro argomenti sono:
- Quelli della Estate sono solo arraffasoldi
- Non dobbiamo sostenere Sony, poiché Michael odiava Sony
- Michael non avrebbe voluto che fosse rilasciata nessuna canzone non completata
- Dopo l'album 'Michael' con le controverse tracce di Cascio nel 2010, non dovremmo sostenere 'Xscape'
- La gente non dovrebbe fare soldi su un morto
Nonostante ognuno abbia diritto alle proprie opinioni, mi sento fortemente di dire che Michael Jackson dovrebbe avere ancora successo, e nel farlo, voglio impostare le cose in chiaro. Io non faccio parte della Michael Jackson Estate e quindi non sono soggetto ad alcun obbligo nel produrre questo articolo per sostenerli. Voglio solo aiutare Michael Jackson ad essere al numero uno nel 2014!
Vorrei quindi rispondere alle obiezioni su questo progetto per come la vedo io:
1) Alcuni pensano che quelli della Tenuta siano arraffasoldi
Dobbiamo ricordarci in quanto fan che, mentre saranno pagati i debiti, i soldi fatti dai progetti che producono andranno anche ad enti di beneficenza come Michael aveva richiesto e ai suoi figli. Sono questi i grandi beneficiari.
2) Alcuni credono che non dovremmo sostenere Sony
Michael ha avuto una contesa ben documentata con la sua casa discografica nel 2002. Tuttavia, la sua rabbia era verso l'allora Presidente Delegato Tommy Mottola. Mottola ha lasciato l'azienda nel 2003 e Michael ha firmato un nuovo contratto con la Sony nel 2008 per rilasciare 'Thriller 25.' Questo dimostra chiaramente che Michael era in pace con la Sony ed era felice di lavorare con loro. Se Michael era felice, dovremmo essere felici anche noi.
3) Alcuni pensano che Michael non avrebbe voluto che fosse rilasciata alcuna canzone non completata
Va certamente riconosciuto che Michael non sarebbe stato felice che fossero rilasciate al pubblico canzoni incompiute. Ma detto questo, ha lavorato più duro di qualsiasi altro artista nel corso della sua carriera e avrebbe voluto che la eredità continuasse. Rilasciare album come 'Xscape' è un ottimo modo per cercare di continuare quello per cui Michael ha lavorato così duramente, e questo, a mio parere, anche se personalmente non ci piacciono le canzoni, se non sono paragonabili a ciò che Michael ha rilasciato quando era vivo. L'album 'Xscape' è stato delicatamente manipolato e tutto ciò che è stato rilasciato dalla morte di Michael è stato lavorato da persone che lo hanno conosciuto o lavorato direttamente con lui.
4) Dopo 'Michael' nel 2010, non vogliamo sostenere 'Xscape'
Non posso parlare a nome della Tenuta, però, direi che dopo le polemiche sulle tracce Cascio nell'ultimo album, loro hanno probabilmente qualche rimpianto, sul fatto che quei tre brani ne hanno certamente rovinato l'uscita. Durante le nostre sessioni con l'Estate a Los Angeles, hanno parlato con molto affetto di ciò che hanno creato dal 2009, anche se hanno evitato di parlare in particolare dell'album del 2010. Hanno anche sottolineato (e giustamente) che il nuovo album non ha niente a che vedere con 'Michael' e che in nessun caso utilizzeranno di nuovo tutte le tracce della famiglia Cascio. L'Estate ha inoltre ascoltato la reazione dei fans e ha imparato dall'ultima volta, ed è per questo che avremo tutti i demo originali in questo nuovo album, ascoltati in ultimo da Michael stesso.
5) La gente non dovrebbe fare soldi su un morto
Il punto della questione è che la Tenuta non può creare cose da dare via gratis. Sarebbe una cattiva gestione aziendale e sarebbe un danno enorme per i figli di Michael. Se dobbiamo ritenere che non si dovrebbero fare soldi, allora nulla può essere rilasciato o prodotto (compresi il Cirque Du Soleil, l'album di anniversario, i DVD dei live dei tour ecc ...). Ciò purtroppo significherebbe che l'eredità di Michael Jackson é morta con lui, senza nulla che promuova i suoi grandi talenti.
In conclusione, direi che non supportare 'Xscape' vorrebbe dire non sostenere Michael Jackson. Il grande pubblico non ne sa molto dei problemi che Michael aveva con la Sony oltre dieci anni fa, o del dramma delle tracce Cascio di quattro anni fa. Tutto quello che vede il pubblico è come stanno nelle classifiche le pubblicazioni. Quello che sarà ricordato alla fine della giornata è se Michael Jackson è ancora l'artista numero uno o non. Solo tu puoi aiutare Michael a raggiungere questo obiettivo. Facciamo che Michael Jackson sia ancora una volta il numero uno e sosteniamo 'Xscape'.
