'Michael's Acre'
Nel mese di agosto saranno due anni da quando il 'Michael's Acre' è stato sistemato presso la bella Hucking Estate nel Kent.
Questo meraviglioso acro di terreno boscoso sarà protetto in memoria di Michael per sempre. Non solo abbiamo un fan irlandese che l'ha visitato oggi (20 giugno) e condividerà presto altre foto, ma il nostro ultimo donatore nei confronti del ' elephant project' - Sue S. dal Regno Unito - ci ha gentilmente permesso di condividere quello che le è successo presso una piccola fiera dell'artigianato questa mattina.
Lei dice: C'era un uomo seduto dietro una mostra di oggetti di Woodland Trust e ci siamo messi a chiacchierare circa il lavoro che fanno.. il cambiamento climatico, la perdita di boschi secolari, perdita di specie.
Poi mi ha chiesto se sapevo delle panchine. "Sai," ha detto "in realtà ne abbiamo una per Michael Jackson... straordinario ". Naturalmente, sono stata in grado di dirgli che lo sapevo e il perché! Questa è la seconda volta che sentiamo dei sostenitori chiedere della panchina di Michael senza avere precedente conoscenza del loro sostegno.
La preoccupazione di Michael per l'ambiente evidentemente viaggia veloce poiché la tutela di questo splendido acro di bosco è stato reso possibile da tanti di voi proprio qui.
In August it will be two years since Michael's Acre was installed at the beautiful Hucking Estate in Kent.
This acre of glorious woodland will be protected in Michael's memory forever. Not only do we have a supporter from Ireland who visited today and will be sharing photos soon, but our latest donor towards the elephant project - Sue S from the UK - has kindly allow us to share what happened to her at a small craft fair this morning. She says: "There was man sitting behind a display of Woodland Trust items and we got chatting about the work they do: climate change, loss of ancient woodland, loss of species.
He then asked me if I knew about their benches. "Do you know," he said "we've actually got one for Michael Jackson.. extraordinary". Of course, I was able to tell him I did know and why!" This is the second time now that we've heard of supporters being asked about Michael's bench without having previous knowledge of their support. Michael's concern for the environment is clearly travelling fast since the protection of this stunning acre of woodland was made possible by so many of you right here.
