Heartfelt hanks to Dr. Patrick Treacy who shared his interview about Michael in the Irish newspaper Sunday World tomorrow:
"Michael introduced himself casually when he first arrived at the clinic. 'Hi Doctor Treacy' he said. 'I'm Michael Jackson'. It happened so quickly that I was totally unprepared. He was the last person I expected to walk through that door. Michael was slightly taller than I expected and slim, but not too thin. He had a smile so infectious that it was impossible not to warm to him. He was a very intelligent guy, a gentleman, a great father. That was the Michael Jackson I knew. I got to know Michael Jackson as a friend witnessing the personal agonies he suffered during the treatment of his vitiligo and watching him cry as he took off his wig and showed me his scarred scalp and how he promised to look after the children of the world if anything ever happened to him. I don't believe he was capable of harming children. He was a kind man, too nice for his own good. But at least in Ireland he was left in peace. He could go out Mullingar and Dublin with his children and no one would bother him. He was photographed a few times but he wasn't mobbed or stalked. He was very much at ease in this country. That's one of the best things about Ireland, we're not feared by cleberities. We treat everyone the same".

Era l'ultima persona che mi aspettavo di veder entrare da quella porta. Michael era leggermente più alto di quanto mi aspettassi ed esile, ma non troppo magro. Aveva un sorriso così contagioso che era impossibile non lasciarsi trasportare dal suo entusiasmo. Era un ragazzo molto intelligente, un gentiluomo, un padre grandioso. Questo era il Michael Jackson che io ho conosciuto. Sono arrivato a conoscere Michael Jackson da amico testimoniando le agonie che ha patito nel trattamento della sua vitiligine e vedendolo piangere mentre si toglieva la parrucca per mostrarmi il suo cuoio capelluto segnato dalle cicatrici e per come ha promesso di occuparsi dei bambini del mondo se mai gli fosse successo qualcosa. Non credo fosse capace di fare del male a un bambino. Era un uomo gentile, troppo buono per il suo stesso giovamento. Ma almeno in Irlanda fu lasciato in pace. Poteva andare fuori Mullingar e Dublino con i suoi figli e nessuno gli avrebbe dato fastidio. E' stato fotografato un paio di volte, ma non è stato assalito o inseguito. Era molto a suo agio in questo paese. Questa è una delle cose migliori dell'Irlanda, non ci sentiamo intimoriti dalle celebrità. Trattiamo tutti allo stesso modo".
