Il 30 gennaio 2005, due mesi prima del suo processo, Michael Jackson rilascia una dichiarazione video registrata tramite il suo sito ufficiale per i media, i fans e la comunità di Santa Barbara, per confutare ancora una volta le affermazioni fatte contro di lui, sottolineando il calvario causato alla sua famiglia, i figli e se stesso. Afferma:
"Nelle ultime settimane, una grande quantità di brutte e dannose informazioni sono state diffuse dai media su di me. Apparentemente, queste informazioni sono trapelata attraverso trascrizioni di un procedimento del grand jury in cui né i miei avvocati, né io, siamo mai apparsi.
Le informazioni sono disgustose e false. Anni fa, ho permesso a una famiglia di visitare e passare un po 'di tempo a Neverland.
Neverland è la mia casa. Ho permesso a questa famiglia di entrare nella mia casa perché mi hanno detto che il loro figlio era malato di cancro e aveva bisogno del mio aiuto. Nel corso degli anni ho aiutato migliaia di bambini malati o in difficoltà. Questi eventi hanno causato un incubo per la mia famiglia, i miei figli e me. Non intendo mettermi in una posizione così vulnerabile di nuovo".
Egli invoca anche l'equità per conto del sistema giudiziario americano: "Amo la mia comunità e ho grande fiducia nel nostro sistema giudiziario. Vi prego di tenere la mente aperta e fatemi avere i miei giorni in tribunale. Mi merito un processo equo, come ogni altro cittadino americano. Sarò assolto e rivendicato quando la verità verrà raccontata.", afferma Jackson concludendo la sua dichiarazione.

On January 30, 2005, two months before his trial, Michael Jackson releases a video-taped statement via his official site to the media, his fans and his community from Santa Barbara, in order to once again refute the allegations made against him, stressing on the ordeal they caused to his family, children and himself: He states:
“In the last few weeks, a large amount of ugly, malicious information has been released into the media about me. Apparently, this information was leaked through transcripts in a grand jury proceeding where neither my lawyers, nor I, ever appeared.
The information is disgusting and false. Years ago, I allowed a family to visit and spend some time at Neverland. Neverland is my home. I allowed this family into my home because they told me their son was ill with cancer and needed my help. Through the years, I have helped thousands of children who were ill or in distress. These events have caused a nightmare for my family, my children and me. I never intend to place myself in so vulnerable a position again.”
He also pleads for fairness on behalf of the American judicial system: “I love my community and I have great faith in our justice system. Please keep an open mind and let me have my day in court. I deserve a fair trial like every other American citizen. I will be acquitted and vindicated when the truth is told”, Jackson states concluding his statement.
